The Food 4 All Food Pantry provides emergency food services on a weekly basis to individuals who resident in the City of Somerville and surrounding cities. We receive food donations from local food access organizations including the Greater Boston Food Bank, Food for Free, but also receive generous donations from local grocery stores, short-term food drives, and individuals within the community. Since 2005 we have been serving around 200 low income families weekly.
Please call (617) 776-7515 or email us at email@example.com to see what opportunities we have available.
Thank you for your support and dedication to helping those in need.
We offer the following volunteer opportunities: Mondays, 9:30 am – 11:30 am, and Tuesdays, 8:00 – 9:30 am.
If you are interested in participating or have another service you would like to provide, please contact our food pantry coordinator by email or phone at 617-776-7515. We welcome academic and community service-related project ideas that are relevant to our food access services!
PLEASE NOTE: all recurring volunteers must complete a volunteer application and undergo a CORI check; however, recurring volunteers registered through Boston Cares do not need to complete this process through F4A as a CORI check is required to become a Boston Cares volunteer.
The F4A Food Pantry distributes food weekly from approximately 8:30am – 6:00pm. Every Tuesday. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the F4A Food Pantry (59 cross Street left side entrance) between 8:00am to receive a short orientation from our food pantry coordinator prior to serving pantry clients. Please be sure to knock loudly on the door so that you will be let in promptly!
Volunteers are paired with clients throughout the distribution and act as personal shoppers, loading up clients’ bags with chosen items. All distribution volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather as they may be in and out of doors when assisting clients with items; be sure to wear sneakers or work boots (no open-toed shoes or sandals, please). Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift at least 10 lbs. 16 years or older, please.
